ONE THING TO PRACTISE

Learn in small sections

A repeatable way to learn any circuit

Progress before outright pace
01 / Find your markers

Use fixed boards, kerbs or marshal posts. Choose a conservative braking point and keep the same car, fuel, tyres and conditions.

02 / Link the corners

Learn a short group, including its exit. A slightly slower entry can be worthwhile if it improves the next straight.

03 / Compare clean laps

Use your best repeatable lap as a reference. Look for time lost, then inspect braking and throttle at that same distance.

Braking distances and gears depend on your car and setup. This guide gives practice goals; measured targets appear only after you load comparable laps.

Get your Assetto Corsa laps into the lab

Download the lightweight AC lap recorder. Extract tlu_lap_recorder into assettocorsa/apps/python/. In Content Manager, enable it under Settings → Assetto Corsa → Apps, then open its app panel while driving. It records locally at approximately 20 Hz and saves completed laps in the app's laps folder. The first partial lap is skipped.

The recorder is for original Assetto Corsa. Its runtime needs a check on your gaming PC; this website cannot read the game's memory remotely. Check that the first CSV matches your car, layout and lap time. Off-track laps are not automatically disqualified; choose clean laps yourself.

For another logger, export one complete lap with time_s,distance_pct,speed_kmh,throttle_pct,brake_pct,gear. Time starts at 0; distance runs from 0 to 100; pedals run from 0 to 100; gear is -1 for reverse, 0 for neutral. Optional columns: x,z,car, track, layout. Coordinates enable the map replay. Metres can replace percentage using distance_m. Quoted CSV fields are supported; MoTeC native files and multi-row export headers need conversion.

CSV files are processed locally and cleared on reload. Nothing is uploaded. Compare your own repeatable best lap first; F1 telemetry is useful for studying patterns, but it is not a braking or gear prescription for an Audi S1 or a modded car.
